Tremendous turnout at NOLA's

UMBC BFSA took over NOLA's restaurant

I would like to thank everyone who came out yesterday to NOLA's restaurant for the BFSA Happy Hour. It was a fantastic time and great to see so many Black and non Black UMBC faculty and staff gathered for a social event. This was definitely the largest turnout we have had for any BFSA event. The staff at NOLA's was wonderful and very accommodating for the number of people that showed up. Not to mention that the food and drinks were on point. NOLA's doesn't owe the BFSA anything and we will definitely be back. Please be on the lookout for more announcements of future BFSA events.

On another note, many of you may or may not know that our former Vice President, Keesha "Kiki" Strickland, has left UMBC for Bowie State University thus vacating her VP position. Frank Caldwell, Associate Director of Residential Life, has graciously agreed to step in and fill that position. Myself along with BFSA Secretary Jennifer Artis and Treasurer Bruce Perry are excited and very much looking forward to working with Frank. Please congratulate Frank on his new position when you see him around campus.

Your UMBC BFSA President
